Virtual Radio Service
80 THROUGH 10 METRE VIRTUAL TRANSCEIVER "CQ100"

If you are in a situation where using Amateur Radio is a problem due to antenna restrictions or TVI, here is a great alternative to actually getting on the air.  It is named "CQ100" located in Canada for any licensed amateur radio operator to use.  After a 90 day trial period there is an annual fee of $32.  You will be required to E-MAIL a copy of your amateur radio license for verification and receive a special link to download the transceiver graphics and then operate just as you would on a regular transceiver.  There are already thousands of hams around the world using this internet radio.  A computer microphone/headphone is required for USB/LSB operation but CW can be used using the computer keyboard or audio in from a keyer.  PSK31 can also be used using a regular program such as Digipan.  Rules apply with CW only allowed in the lower parts of the bands and there are CW beacons along with code practice on 20 metres.  Some nets are already repeating their audio such as on 40 metres so that amateurs can listen in while at work or vacation.  Check it out and you will be very pleased.

ARLB030 FCC to Drop Morse Testing for All Amateur License Classes

In an historic move, the FCC has acted to drop the Morse code
requirement for all Amateur Radio license classes.  This is surely
the darkest day for Amateur Radio and many people feel this is a
move by the FCC to discourage future licensing.
As Nancy Kott WZ8C who runs the well known FISTS club said when
interviewd by the New York Times, "Our Government is trying to Dumb
Down America".
